Our Story
Our main goal at Mind Your Motion? To reclaim resilience in today's youth. We do not believe in crafting safe spaces--- we believe in teaching children (and adults!) to move through any space, any time, any where.
Emotional regulation isn't taught through colorful feelings charts. By teaching the mind-brain connection, and mastering evidence-based tools to truly "manage the nervous system", we create adaptable, resilient children primed for "real life". We teach children and their families to understand their nutritional and fitness needs, to learn behavior science to apply to their own lifestyle, the ins and outs of the American healthcare system, the mind-body connection, critical thinking and decision-making, debate, and mindfulness strategies--- all intertwined, rather than separated into silos that are physical health, mental health, and social-emotional learning.
In our work, we hope to help families unlearn modern SEL, to stop the pathologizing of children, and to rebuild childhood. All of our teachings pull from the Stoics, Buddhism, brain neuroscience, kinesiology, psychiatry, behavioral psychology, and functional medicine. Oh--- and common sense!
No buzzwords. No bandaids. Just brain-based tools for raising capable, calm, and resilient kids.
